St. Louis

here we - came. Anyone looking for a family friendly vacation, give good old St. Louis a try. We LOVED it. We stayed at the Marriott Union Station (really beautiful building with shopping inside) and hit some fun kid sites including the Magic House, the City Museum and Six Flags! The City Museum is a must for anyone with kids and wants to see something incredibly different and lots of fun! It's like a giant playground (three stories I believe) made out of 100% recycled materials from all around St. Louis. So it is all pieced together out of the most unexpected materials. It's really way crazy. Anyhow we had loads of fun and really need to get back as we didn't have time for all the things on my list (I really want to get to Grants Farm). I mean the place was so much fun! We made it to the Arch where they were celebrating the 100th Birthday of the head architect of the project, so we even had cake (see photo in previous post). We actually walked the entire way back to the hotel where we went past the City Garden (incredible playground with fountains and sculptures for the kids to climb) but had to rush past because it started to rain. So yet another place to have to return to on the next visit. The hotel room was perfect too. We had a big window seat (that overlooked the ever so important pool) that the kids loved to sit in and play with all their toys and puzzles (a favorite right now). Oh, and the drive down was rather good I'd say. We finally set up our DVD player for the car, and it was perfect! We left in the evening and they both slept for awhile, but when they woke, we popped in a movie and it was two content kids the rest of the way! The DVD player was also great in the room at night! If no appropriate kids cartoons or movies were on we'd put a movie on and they loved watching the mini screen, you know something new and different I guess! Anyway way too many photo's but it really was a great vacation! Thanks Jon, Ava and Zac!

Upon Pick Up

Okay, so the two kiddo's have been in school over a week now and so I ask Ava " What is your favorite part of school?" To which she responds "Ahhh, going outside". Okay, so I want to hear about something other than the playground so I ask "What is your second favorite thing?" and she quickly shoots back "When you pick me up!" Well she just made my whole day - I was smiling the whole way home just thinking about it. These pictures are from a recent trip to St. Louis which I hope to tell you about soon.

Ava Wins!

Oh yes she did! Miss Ava out did her Dad & Grandpa Tom this past weekend at Great America. They were to toss a ring onto a bottle - well the only successful one was Ava! Don't you love the PINK Monkey? She was adorable carrying this big ol' thing out of the park. She was so proud of herself, and wouldn't let us carrying it for her!

First Day

September 2nd was Zachary's very first day of pre-school & Ava's first day of 4K! Oh my what a big and exciting day. Zac is holding his raisin bread above with butter on his mouth. We went to the El Station Mexican restaurant to celebrate their day when Daddy came home. Zac was a little hesitate having to go in all alone and did pout some, but his teacher called at 10:30 (when he went outside on the playground) and said he was doing real well for his first day. She said he loves the barn house toy, big surprise there for my animal loving boy, and was super excited to go outside! Ava seems happier in this classroom, over her summer school class - thank goodness. She really likes her teacher too. When I asked her her favorite part of school she said "playing on the playground". When asked her second favorite part she responds "when you come get me". Gotta love that girl!
